As part of the initiation into the Christian life, baptised children will undertake the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we say sorry to God for our sins and receive His forgiveness and healing.

In the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, truly present in the Eucharist under the species of bread and wine. Communion is a sign of our communion with God and the Church. The Body and Blood of Christ reminds us of how Jesus gave His life for us and how he invites us to share with him the eternal banquet in heaven.

Preparation for the sacraments
The preparation for these sacraments is done as a communal effort between the family and the parish. Parents, as primary teachers of the faith, are strongly encouraged to work with their children by using resources provided and by discussing the sacraments at home.

Children are expected to attend all preparation sessions, so that they may suitably formed to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion.

Children will be provided with a sacramental activity book for Reconciliation and First Communion. The cost of these books and the certificate for Holy Communion is $25.
The activity books will be distributed at the first preparation session and will be required for all sessions.
